Cloud computing: A data integration solution
According to a new report by Syncsort, businesses are struggling with the sometimes complex process of data integration. In a recent survey, the company points out that current applications geared toward network synergy may not be enough, as 57 percent of responding IT professionals claim their integration tools need to be modified in order to attain optimal performance.
Pricing for these integration aids is equally problematic. The company's report found the cost of these applications was the top issue cited by 39 percent of respondents.
"Organizations are struggling with how to strike a balance between expensive and time-consuming workarounds for dealing with exploding data volumes and a desire to drive ever-increasing value and insights from this data," said Sean Ford, Syncsort's CMO.
Businesses looking to make information migrations economical may consider the cloud as a potential solution. Experts say managed service providers enable enterprises to save because they will store information that previously was held in expensive and energy-guzzling computer servers in virtual space. Therefore, companies only needs to pay for computing demands on a case-by-case basis.
There are several methods of cloud integration available to businesses, according to a new report by Gartner. However, a chief concern of process is how cloud applications coalesce with legacy systems.
