Cloud computing improves IT agility
According to a recent Experian Hitwise report, one major benefit companies experience when adopting cloud computing is increased IT agility.
Jeff James, an industry news analyst, explained in a recent article that companies typically take a considerable amount of time adjusting to their capacity demands. However, this situation has seen improvement with the advancement of the cloud, as it allows companies to expand their storage and capacity needs on a scalable basis.
"The arrival of cloud computing gives IT organizations even more of an ability to easily - and cost-effectively - expand and reduce computing resources to meet fluctuating demands," said James.
The cloud offers virtualization as well, which many companies have deemed important in response to the growing need for collaboration and out-of-office management increases.
Adopting cloud computing as a managed IT service in order to improve agility has become a major trend across many sectors. Recent IDC reports estimate the rise of worldwide IT spending on the cloud, which will reach $44.2 billion by 2014, as well as the public cloud's market reaching $29.5 billion by 2015.
