Government aims to diminish fears regarding cloud security

Amid skepticism about cloud security, the U.S. government has decided to implement this technology in many systems of national importance. According to Forbes, General Keith Alexander, head of U.S. CyberCommand, professed his faith in cloud computer hosting and stated that it was an ideal platform for government agencies such as the Department of Defense. As he told Forbes, there are still concerns about cloud computing, specifically the security measures, but on the whole government agencies are confident their data stored on the cloud won't be compromised. He also stated that cloud protective measures will likely improve over time.

Due to government support, Forbes reports that it may be time for civilians who are wary of cloud computing architecture to rethink their position. The drive toward cloud quality has received much support from government institutions. In a story by ThomasNetNews, California-based Passware, Inc. now provides password encryption services for a multitude of industries, including government. The company houses this service in the cloud.
