Cloud computing allows for better data collection

According to a recent CNET report, some of the greatest benefits cloud computing offers to users are increased data collection and the ability to process larger data sets.

With the cloud possessing the ability to store huge amounts of data, as well as assess information in real-time, companies needing quick analytics can benefit greatly from the managed IT service.

The cloud also offers scalability for companies seeking the ability to deal with increasing sizes of data sets.

"The cloud has clearly changed the game for data and it looks like data may in turn play a central role in the future of cloud computing," James Urquhart wrote for CNET.

In regards to data accessibility, a recent Forrester Research report believes big data and the cloud will completely merge during 2011, as more large enterprises seek cost-effective ways to collect and offer huge amounts of data to users.

The cloud’s future, according to recent reports, has never looked brighter. Osterman Research recently stated companies expect to increase their cloud services by 10 percent during 2011.
