The alliance will last 10 years, over which time it will build six data centers. The data centers will provide cloud services to IT centers under the brand “onecloud.”

“Our clients from the government, public sector and banks can now undertake data centrt transformation services using our flexible sourcing options, or simply host their entire IT assets within our secure data centers with complete peace of mind at a very competitive cost,” said BSNL CMD Gopal Das to The Hindu.

He also said all data centers will be up and running within six months. The centers will be built in the cities of Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

In addition to large-scale cloud projects, India also plans to build clouds for businesses of all sizes. Recently, the country introduced new cloud infrastructure to help small and medium-sized businesses with cloud services.
