As the chief executive officer (CEO) and a member of the NaviSite Board of Directors, Arthur Becker provides day-to-day leadership to the company’s senior management and is personally involved in the strategy, financing and merger and acquisition (M&A) activities of the company. Mr. Becker was a founding investor and member of the Board of Directors of ClearBlue Technologies, Inc., a company started in 2001 with the purpose of acquiring distressed Internet infrastructure companies. He is also co-founder of Atlantic, LLC, an investment fund company he started with NaviSite Chairman Andy Ruhan, which acquired the data center assets of Colo.com in 2001. Mr. Becker comes to NaviSite with experience as founder and managing member of several technology and investment companies, including Impower, a London-based provider of technology consulting services to government; Advance Partners, LLC, which provided financial advisory services to Cendent Corporation and Global Switch in the UK; and Madison Technology, LLC, a New York-based technology investment firm. From 1987 through 1993, Mr. Becker served as a director with Bear Stearns & Company (BSC-NYSE), where he led the successful proxy contest for control of ProGroup, Inc., a leading golf equipment and apparel manufacturer. Prior to that, he held various positions from managing partner to owner of a number of real estate development companies.
Denis Martin's role as Executive Vice President reflects his continued contributions to NaviSite's strategic direction, including acquisition activity, and product, service, and channel development. Martin brings 20 years of business experience and has served in several positions in the company, most recently as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. He has extensive experience in network-based computing and outsourced delivery of business solutions and managed services. Before joining NaviSite, Mr. Martin managed the national hosting and application services organization for AppliedTheory, Inc. As a co-founder of AppliedTheory, Inc., he was instrumental in the development of the company's managed service offering by combining traditional hosting services with application development, integration and support services. He had served as Senior Director of Software Engineering at AppliedTheory's predecessor, NYSERNet, the world's first regional Internet service provider. He has also acted as a consultant to several state and federal agencies in developing network and application programs at local, state and national levels.
As Chief Financial Officer for NaviSite, Jim Pluntze is responsible for all finance and administration functions within which include, due diligence for all acquisitions, asset reallocation, and fund raising efforts for the company. Mr. Pluntze is also a member of the Sarbanes-Oxley steering committee. Mr. Pluntze joined NaviSite in 2002 as the Chairman of the Audit Committee on the Board of Directors. In March of 2003, Mr. Pluntze moved to an operating role within the company as the acting Chief Financial Officer and held that position until May 2005 when he became the Sr. Vice President of Finance. During his time at NaviSite, Mr. Pluntze played a key role in NaviSite’s six acquisitions. Mr. Pluntze has over 20 years of experience in high level finance positions in several Massachusetts high tech companies.
As Senior Vice President of Hosting Services for NaviSite, Mark Clayman is responsible for ensuring that the Hosting Services organization meets the growing demands of our customers who depend on NaviSite to provide scalable, customer-centric application and managed services with prompt effectiveness and cost efficiency and everyday reliability. Mr. Clayman joined NaviSite through the acquisition of Surebridge, Inc., a Lexington, MA provider of application services where he served as Vice President and CIO, responsible for creating and managing the Hosting and Technology Group. He joined Surebridge in June 1999 through the acquisition of the Information Systems Department of The Berkshire Group, a holding company headquartered in Boston, MA. He worked as both the Help Desk Manager and then the Manager of Network Services at The Berkshire Group, providing infrastructure support and services to the individual subsidiaries, including two publicly-traded entities, of the parent company. Additionally, he was responsible for the overall network security and disaster recovery for The Berkshire Group's mission critical applications. Prior to working within the Information Systems Group, Clayman worked as a Corporate Accountant for The Berkshire Group, producing their quarterly and annual financial consolidations of the corporate entities for Senior Management and third-party auditors.
As Senior Vice President of Professional Services, Mr. Cochinwala is responsible for all aspects of delivery and sales of Professional Services for NaviSite, Inc. Mr. Cochinwala has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, IT and finance. During his ten years at Oracle, he was the regional vice president of the West Coast consulting practice and established a high-powered management team of directors and senior directors for practice management, account management and business development for vertical and regional execution. He also established consulting teams for global system implementation and business transformation, especially related to Oracle technology and application offerings. In addition, Mr. Cochinwala managed the transformation of onsite technical development to offshore development in India for more than 80 percent of the projects in California. Prior to Oracle Corporation, he held senior-level positions at Strategic Mapping, Inc. and Failure Analysis Associates, Inc.
As Senior Vice President of Global Delivery, Sumeet Sabharwal is responsible for leading and managing NaviSite's Global Delivery organization. This includes all aspects of sales and delivery for NaviSite’s custom application services business and the Global Delivery operations that span the various service offerings. Mr. Sabharwal brings extensive experience in both the IT services and outsourcing arenas, having spent more than six years leading and managing the global delivery operations for IT services companies, like Sapient and Intrasphere. Before joining NaviSite, Sabharwal was Vice President and Managing Director at Intrasphere, where he led their Global Delivery operations and served on the Board of Intrasphere India. Prior to Intrasphere, he was Vice President and Executive Director at Sapient, where he played an instrumental role in launching the Global Delivery operations in India and growing it to more than 800 people in less than four years. He also led Sapient's application management business across both the US and Europe, and held responsibility over all facets of its operations, including sales and service delivery. He previously held senior level positions at Visient, Sapient, and Motorola.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Rathin Sinha is responsible for all marketing efforts for NaviSite, including brand development, communication, product marketing and design-execution of on-line and off-line marketing programs for lead generation, demand creation and brand awareness. Additionally, as President of the America’s Job Exchange, a wholly owned subsidiary of NaviSite, Rathin is responsible for development and overall growth of this on-line career advertising portal leading all strategic and operational functions. Rathin brings more than twenty years of marketing and internet experience and a proven track record of growing high-tech and web-centric businesses. Prior to joining NaviSite, he served as the General Manager of the eCommerce division at Monster.com where he built and quickly expanded the direct to customer channel tripling revenue in less than four years. Earlier he was a Vice President of Marketing for Standard Register and held various eCommerce, strategy and product leadership positions at Kinko’s, Mitchell Madison Group, and Honeywell respectively.
As Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development, Jim Fanella is tasked with growing NaviSite’s strategic business development program. This includes establishing new strategic alliances, new revenue streams, and repeatable solutions offerings to our partners’ end customers. He will lead the charge to enable NaviSite’s alliances to grow their small and medium-sized (SMB) customers specifically targeting managed Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings, messaging and hosted applications. Jim brings over 27 years of experience in the high tech industry with proven success in channel management and direct sales. Jim joins NaviSite most recently from Sun Microsystems, where he served as Vice President of Global Channels. Prior to joining Sun, Jim was Executive Vice President of worldwide sales, technical support, and professional services for Computer Network Technology, a $500 million storage networking company. In addition, he served as Yahoo!’s Senior Vice President of Global Enterprise Solutions, where he was responsible for leading over 20% of the company's worldwide revenue, including all portal, small business, streaming media, and collaboration solutions. Jim has been published in Insurance and Technology, Best Review, National Underwriter, and CPCU magazine and quoted in over 50 publications on topics ranging from the future of portals, premium content, and monetizing value on the Internet. He also served as Chairman of the American Management Association; as a member of the Board of Directors of Avatech; and as an executive mentor in the corporate Menttium program for junior executives.
