Homeland Security cloud warns of ecological disasters

This spring, the United States has seen a large number of tornadoes, resulting in significant property damages and loss of human lives. While natural disasters like these cannot be prevented, their effects can be mitigated by an effective warning system.

According to NC4, its cloud is used by the Department of Homeland Security to warn citizens of danger headed their way. During the recent proliferation of tornadoes, this service warned residents in dangerous areas about weather alerts, power outages and traffic issues.

The cloud-based solution was able to effectively disseminate this information, prompting both the company and federal officials to attest to its reliability. Furthermore, it may be considered as a good option for public safety agencies with limited resources.

"In times when customers' budgets are stretched and they need a cost effective way to quickly learn of developing events, as well as be able to securely communicate about or manage these important events, they can rely on the power of NC4's cloud-based solutions," said Jim Montagnino, president and CEO of NC4.

Clouds designed for government agencies vary based on their intended use. According to Daily Tech, the National Security Administration's platform is designed to promote interoperability among federal divisions.
