PwC joins cloud standards organization

Cloud providers looking for a way deliver their services and receive greater industry credibility may opt to join standards bodies. According to Pricewaterhouse Coopers, it recently joined the Cloud Security Alliance to achieve this end.

PwC claims its decision to join the CSA was predicated on its desire to deliver better services to customers. The company intends to utilize the help of the standards organization in its efforts to create "innovative and leading enterprise-wide cloud strategies for its clients."


The CSA indicated it is glad to add an additional member.

"The CSA is thrilled to have PwC as a member of the alliance," Jim Reavis, executive director of the CSA, said. "We believe their perspective on cloud computing will benefit the alliance and help drive the mission of our organization."

Together, both organizations will design public awareness campaigns to better educate the masses on certain aspects of the cloud and virtualized data storage in general. Specific areas of focus include security, privacy and best use, stated PwC.

The CSA's membership is continuing to expand. According to newKerala, the organization recently launched a new chapter in Mumbai, adding 250 members to the worldwide standards body.
