Insurance agency owners to increase cloud adoption
According to a recent report from IFA Web News, the cloud computing market is expected to see boosts after heavy adoption from the insurance industry.
The cloud allows companies in the sector “affordable and flexible” services, which level the playing field and let small companies compete, the article states.
Many companies have begun using the cloud without knowing it, a recent Virtacore Systems survey revealed. Of those participating in the survey, 54 percent using web-based software for email, CRM, productivity or conferencing did not realize the applications were cloud-based.
“People are starting to realize that cloud computing can save a lot of money and a lot of headache, and can basically give you a lot more solid infrastructure with a lot less cost,” Andy Scurto, president of ISCS, a software and services provider for the industry, told IFA.
Scurto further stated that those embracing the cloud and maximizing its services could save between 25 and 50 percent in certain areas.
IDC recently predicted worldwide IT spending on cloud computing will reach $44.2 billion in 2013, up from $16.2 billion in 2008.
