IT field works hard to combat cloud threats

According to Network Computing, there is still a considerable amount of concern in the computing industry over data integrity in cloud. Many businesses that lack knowledge of the platform's architectural characteristics claim that virtual information is an easy target for cyber criminals.

While these views are understandable, they are ultimately misguided, claims the news source. According to one industry executive, cloud security remains a central concern to IT professionals devoted to making the computing mode completely secure. Furthermore, the protective measures of the cloud are the culmination of years of research.

"It started out with mainframes, and they did it better, but they didn't have the depth and breadth of applications we have today," John Pironti, president of IP Architects, told the media outlet.

Furthermore, he claims that new computing modes do not necessarily change the tactics of hackers, as they ultimately try to attack the source of the most financial information. IT professionals working in the cloud know this fact and adjust their security measures accordingly.

Additionally, cloud-based data may call upon a number of data center locations, according to PC World. This geographic sprawl may make it harder for hackers to pick out specific targets for their attacks.
