Top AWS Product Announcements- Week 4
Hello everyone! Here’s an update on recent news from the AWS blog. These are our picks for the most important recent developments from AWS. This week, we have new support for the Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS), RDS for Oracle now supporting Oracle OLAP, and updated versions of two APN Partner Digital Courses. It’s a quick read, and you can always click on the links below for more information.
Customers running Linux on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) can now take advantage of new support for attaching Provisioned IOPS Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes to multiple EC2 instances. Each EBS volume, when configured with the new multi-attach option, can be attached to a maximum of 16 EC2 instances in a single availability zone. Read more here.
Why it matters: The ability to attach to multiple EC2 instances allows customers to cluster file systems within AWS. Using clustered systems with apps that support them enables customers to simplify their architecture, reduce operational overhead, and decrease their total cost of ownership (TCO).
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports Oracle OLAP, a multi-dimensional analytic engine embedded in the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. Oracle OLAP gives SQL access to advanced analytics and cube-organized materialized views to enhance the performance of business intelligence solutions. Find out more here.
Why it matters: The Oracle OLAP enhancement gives customers access to advanced analytics and views that improve business intelligence and allow them to maximize their RDS for Oracle investment.
There are now updated versions of two digital courses: 1) AWS Solutions Training for Partners: Amazon Connect (Technical); and 2) AWS Technical Professional. These digital courses were designed to help APN partners understand how to discuss the technical advantages of creating a cloud-based contact center with Amazon Connect, and get a basic technical understanding of AWS services. Learn more about the new courses here.
Why it matters: These updated APN portal online training courses are a great way to enhance your AWS knowledge and continue career development and ongoing learning.
