So we're going to discuss the importance of getting

Moving from client-server to web-based

862 is a game changer which
when leveraged correctly will shift user perception,
simplify day to day tasks,
provide enhanced navigation, and improve
user experience.
This is one of the biggest releases for PeopleSoft
in the last 10 years.
This shows PeopleSoft's commitment to invest
in PeopleTools and image releases, with
more improvements coming in the very near future.
Let's discuss some of those new features in PeopleTools
862, which directly impact your
PeopleSoft installation.
PeopleTools 862 user experience
is the biggest advance forward in years.
A sample of the new landing page and design
is currently being displayed.
The introduction of the new landing pages signals
a strategic shift from the traditional
Wall of tiles homepage to a more
modern,
intuitive, and visually appealing interface
comparable to leading Sash solutions.
Leveraging a new framework in sectionalized
home pages gives developers greater
flexibility and full control over
design, layout, and styling.
PeopleTools 862 will deliver a sample
landing page with several reusable
sections which can be configured using
portal content and incorporated
into your specific landing page design.
Styling sections
will provide a fresh update to the overall
look and feel, as well as the ability
to lay out sections vertically, horizontally,
or side by side in 2 to 3 different
columns. Adopting landing
pages will deliver a more intuitive
and visually engaging user
experience.
One of the other impactful areas of change
delivered in PeopleTools 862 involves
upgrades and ongoing maintenance of your PeopleSoft
application. PeopleTools 862
introduces customization centric insights
dashboards that provides a clear,
intuitive overview of existing customizations.
By integrating customization data with
PeopleSoft Update Manager metadata,
it enables users to visualize and
manage their customizations more effectively.
You will be empowered to answer critical
questions such as how customized is
my application,
which customizations have been impacted by
maintenance the most,
which customizations are being used, and the
frequency of usage.
Enabling the usage monitor in
your production system will allow you to utilize
the customization Insights dashboard
to identify unused customizations
that might be candidates for removal.
An example of the customization Insights
dashboard is shown on this slide.
Utilizing customization insights in your
test environment will tell you if customizations
are being tested.
By combining, by combining both
production and test usage data,
we can show where you are testing customizations
that are no longer used in production.
Leveraging the customization Insight dashboard
will eliminate one of the costs of standing still
previously mentioned by Barry.
This dashboard will also help you make better
decisions on what to keep,
which customizations are expensive to maintain,
and what customizations you might want to remove
or isolate.
Along with the customization insights dashboard.
Additional new power interactive
embedded insights are being integrated into
the application.
Insights can now be
Embedded directly into the home page title,
related content,
fluid work centers,
navigation collections, and fluid pages,
newly delivered landing pages can serve as
the initial access point into the Insight
dashboards, which can present both
delivered and custom insights.
Smart prompts and smart dropdown lists.
PeopleTools 862 introduces context-aware
prompts and dropdowns that adapt based
on frequently and recently used values,
boosting search efficiency and reducing
clicks.
Smart prompts and smart dropdown lists
prioritize the most relevant suggestions
at the top based on user behavior.
These suggestions will not appear initially as
they dynamically adjust as users
interact with PeopleSoft.
This option is consistent with fluid,
Classic Plus,
and Classic, ensuring a seamless
experience.
Global search redesign
has been
Redesigned to allow a clean search input
on the page header with improved suggestions
that make it easy to access recently
visited items, categories, and
application areas,
all with enhanced management options. The
streamlined feature offers a concise
overview of saved searches, enabling
users to effectively reorder,
regroup, or remove them.
It enhances navigation and delivers a
more personalized experience across the platform.
2 new plugins for search have been delivered to
help automate the deployment of RTI
and Insight dashboards using automated
configuration management, saving time for
administrators.
Real-time indexing allows customers to
keep index data synchronized with the database,
so there's no latency between the database
and index as updates are real-time.
PeopleDools 862 supports horizontal
scale-out across multiple servers
to handle high volume indexing,
improving performance and availability.
Previously, real-time indexing was combined
to a single domain, which meant
everything had to go through one lane regardless of how
much data was being indexed or how
many search
definitions were being managed.
With 862, horizontal scaling
allows you to spin up multiple domains and
distribute the workload across them,
basically creating a wider highway
allowing for faster indexing.
This type of powerful enhancement is valuable
in environments with high amounts of transactional
data changes such as student systems,
HR modules,
job postings, or ledger updates.
Horizontal scaling allows organizations
to build an infrastructure that supports performance
today and for the future without
reinventing your architecture each
release. Improvements
in the integration broker area have been
delivered revolving around.
Que prioritization
allows administrators to ensure time-sensitive
transactions are processed first,
moving away from random processing of
messages.
REST Services
now supports defining URL
identifiers through metadata URL
objects,
enabling dynamic endpoint references
for development, testing, and production
environments.
This significantly streamlines service
operation migration and reduces manual
configuration effort.
A new HTTP property
in PeopleTools 862 allows
the use of domain names instead of IP
addresses for HTTP requests, enhancing
support for features such as
server name identification certificates
and improving compatibility with modern
web security standards.
The following slide shows an overview of several
other areas of improvements delivered
in PeopleTools 862, such as
query improvements, which allow for
partially masking of PII data,
enhanced navigation features and
application designer for compare reports,
and configurable search options allowing
for centralization of common search
settings.
PeopleSoft and AI. Integrating
AI functionality from third
parties, leveraging generative AI
will improve efficiency and save time
on tasks.
Several examples of this type
of AI would be debugging SQL
logs.
Uh, you could paste SQL logs into your approved
generative AI to identify syntax
errors or consistencies,
suggest optimization queries,
highlight potential performance bottlenecks.
Query validation.
You can validate SQL queries,
suggest alternative query structures for better
performance,
explain the purpose of specific queries in
plain language.
Log analysis, parse and summarize
SQL logs to identify patterns or
anomalies,
detect failed queries, and provide
suggestions for fixing them.
Highlight repetitive queries that could benefit
from optimization.
These time savings could be only minutes, but
imagine the cumulative effect of saving
15 minutes or more on each task.
You could save hours in the week.
Additionally,
PeopleSoft has announced during their Blueprint
4D 2025 conference, it will no
longer develop or enhance Picasso,
shifting its AI strategy for PeopleSoft
towards partner delivered or DIY
AI integrations.
Existing implementations built on ODA
will still function.
Oracle cloud integration
will also provide
seamlessly options through
Oracle autonomous database
for advanced data management,
Oracle digital assistance for
conversational AI capabilities,
OCI data.
Science for building and deploying machine
learning models.

allow you to access the compare
reports, uh, easier.
Uh, it provides information quicker,
so you're not digging through those types of, uh, the,
the compare reports to try and find,
uh, the differences.
Uh, so it does streamline things from, from that standpoint.
So yes, the, the get current process
is It's, it's basically
the same.
However, the, with the new tools
862 and
the latest Palm
image upgrades,
it just
provides again, a, a more
modern look and feel,
um,
in a, in a.
In increased productivity
around being able to embed these insights
and uh and actually
take action
on some of these embedded insights, whether it's
in your work centers, dashboards, pivot
grids,
uh, you have the ability to
uh to embed them
in any of these pages,
and they're actionable from
those pages,
uh, and that's been, that's a, that's a great improvement from the
past as well.
