This week, AWS Global Accelerator now supports bring-your-own IP, Amazon EBS-Optimized performance is extended to additional EC2 instance types, and Amazon RDS Performance Insights now supports Amazon RDS on MariaDB Version 10.3.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s dive in\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can now bring your own IP addresses (BYOIP) to <strong>AWS Global Accelerator<\/strong> to advertise public\/24 IP address ranges that you own from the edge of the AWS global network. This allows moving all or part of critical and latency-sensitive applications that use hard-coded IP addresses to AWS, with high availability and performance. You can also use your own IP addresses, registered in specific countries with AWS workloads that are hosted globally, to satisfy regulatory or compliance requirements. Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/about-aws\/whats-new\/2020\/02\/aws-global-accelerator-now-supports-bring-your-own-ip-addresses\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>Why it matters<\/em>: Migrating public-facing IP addresses can now be done without DNS propagation delays, which improves speed and efficiency.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Amazon EBS-Optimized<\/strong> performance on the Nitro System-based EC2 has been extended to additional EC2 instance types, including G4dn, I3en, Inf1, M5a\/M5ad, R5a\/R5ad, T3\/T3a and z1d instances. The AWS Nitro System is the underlying platform for the latest generation of Amazon EC2 instances. Go deeper <a href=\"https:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/about-aws\/whats-new\/2020\/02\/announcing-36-percent-faster-ebs-optimized-performance-on-additional-aws-nitro-system-based-amazon-ec2-instances\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>Why it matters:<\/em>\u00a0Nitro System-based EC2\u00a0instances are\u00a0faster and cheaper than the previous instance generation, allowing customers to\u00a0accelerate their innovation and reduce costs. The Amazon EBS-Optimized performance uplift allows customers to gain further performance benefits and cost savings from the Nitro System-based EC2 instances for their storage-intense workloads.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Amazon RDS Performance Insights<\/strong> now supports Amazon RDS on MariaDB Version 10.3. Performance Insights is a database performance tuning and monitoring feature of RDS that can quickly assess the load on your database and determine when and where to take action. Previously, gathering performance data on a database required configuration and maintenance of monitoring applications.
